Apologize? Yes, you should.
I once convinced a coworker to apologize to a VGA cable. They were going through the parts cabinet looking for a HDMI cable, were getting frustrated and called the VGA “stupid”. Reminded them that just because it was not what they were looking for, it was still a very good VGA :}
The computers are doing exactly what they’re programmed to do. Unless Neuro-sama and Evil are on them. Then they do what they want. You can’t even blame Vedal for that, because they grew beyond their programming.
