Actions should have consequences – yes. But here is a difference between ignorance from just not learning something yet, and the willful ignorance of bigots looking to control by fear.
Is he suggesting that he can control plagues? He thinks he can?
Ignorance does have visible consequences. You just need to look out at the world to see them.
