  1. I can understand the local, small, branch not having a deep history. But even the main downtown branch is light on classic SF :{

    1. My library system has smaller rural libraries that tend to stock the older, classic stuff. The larger more urban libraries keep their collections more up to date, thanks to having more purchasing power. It’s a good system that allows everyone to be able to request (almost) everything they may want to read. Something that city libraries tend not to be able to do

  2. On the other hand, I have run across old mysteries here which proudly say they were printed specially to preserve paper for the war effort.
