Patron: This is a list of books my parents say I may check out.
Jody: Okay.

Patron: Don’t you want it?
Jody: No, that’s got nothing to do with me.

Patron: But what if I check out a book that’s not on the list? And then hide it when I get home?
Jody: That’s between you and your parents.

Patron: What if they never find out?
Jody: They will if you look like that. You’re setting off my parental “he’s up to something” radar and I don’t even know you.

    What is Jody’s story? She’s an amazing character, but we don’t know anything about her other than she’s a single mom with two kids and she’s generally apathetic. What happened to the partner? Skip town? Die? Both?
