Do not use liquid spray cleaners on computers. I had one of the company laptops shutdown due to getting sprayed with disinfectant and it needed significant repair to become operational again.
I think its OK to use liquid spray on a regular computer keyboard as shown in the comic. Those are not integral parts of the computer the way a laptop keyboard is (at least mine aren’t!). The ones that come with the computers tend to be cheap ones, and not too expensive to replace. I’d be much more cautious & paranoid with a separately purchased keyboard, especially the kind with a roller (replacing the mouse) built into it.
Our best practice (even with keyboards) has been to avoid spraying directly on the keyboard. We spray on the cloth and then wipe down. Still, even in a worst-case scenario, it’s a lot cheaper to replace a keyboard than a whole computer.
