This switched all around once we changed to a computer system that couldn’t access the receipt printers…
And somehow we are supposed to remember which patrons want receipts and which don’t. You think the software developers could figure out a way to save each patron’s choice in their record.
I always get the receipt: it makes a great bookmark now that we don’t use date due cards anymore! 😉
Also, when I either have a lot of items checked out, or from multiple libraries with different due dates (the university library where I work has longer loan times than my local public library!), it helps me keep better track of what needs to be returned where by when! 😀
