With today’s weather in Toronto, the guy in black is wearing the correct clothing. We are getting the most snow on record for November 11. Mind you, the libraries around here are closed for Remembrance Day.
In 2025, TPL won’t be closed for Remembrance Day – https://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/holiday-hours/. Ottawa library will be: https://about.biblioottawalibrary.ca/en/statutory-holiday-hours. Since it’s a federal holiday and not a provincial one in Ontario, that makes sense if the rest of Ottawa (the nation’s capital) were otherwise closed. Mind you, if all of the federal workers are off, I’d say a nice way to spend some downtime would be at the library! And yet, Windsor will be closed on Remembrance Day – https://www.windsorpubliclibrary.com/holiday-hours-2/. So, go figure! Perhaps their nearness to Detroit (which will celebrate Veterans Day on that same date) may explain that one. Then again, perhaps when public libraries open and close, they have no rhyme or reason!

Toronto Public libraries are not closed for Remembrance day.
Seconded. In fact, I can’t think of any Canadian library that is closed on Remembrance Day. It’s not a holiday in most of Canada.
