Patron: So I can check out any books in the library except the three books my husband ordered?
Jody: No, that’s incorrect. There are a lot of books here you can’t check out.
Patron: Because you like making my life difficult?
Jody: No, because they’re in high demand, they’re part of the reference collection, or they are on hold for other library patrons.
Patron: What if I want that book?
Patron 2: Frankly, I’d give it to you because you scare the crap out of me.
