Patron: I’ve lined up at your door. I’ve called when you open. I’ve begged. I’ve pleaded. I never get a room.
Jody: I’m sorry our system isn’t working for you.

Patron: Ah-ha! An admission of guilt!
Jody: That was an expression of sympathy.

Patron: Who do I talk to about a better way of doing things? These are the five best options..
Jody: And this is an expression of resignation.

    1. Technically, yes, but “first come, first serve” has enough traction to be listed as an acceptable alternative in the dictionary (Merriam-Webster).
