Patron: I’m looking for some books for my husband.
Martin: What sorts of books does he like?
Patron: He’s a man. He likes manly books.
Martin: Do you mean fiction with male characters? Nonfiction about famous men? What sort --
Patron: Doesn’t matter as long as they’re doing manly things.
Martin: You keep using the word “manly.” I’m not sure what you mean.
Patron: Is there someone with more testosterone that I could talk to?
Martin: Sure. But I’m afraid you’ll find the rest of our staff will also try to avoid blatant sexism.

I’ve got a book for her. “Manly Guys Doing Manly Things” by Kelly Turnbull. Unfortunately it is only available in graphic form on the Interwebz, so Martin will fail to acknowledge its existence on two counts.
