Lucy: I just need to know you’re doing your job well.
Esther: I am when I can concentrate on doing it.
Lucy: Well can you tell me about it a bit?
Esther: The teens are happy and, if somehow it’s not obvious, I’m working hard and I’ve clearly got too much to do.
Esther: It’s frustrating that you can’t see that and feel the need to make me take time I don’t have to gather and present details you’ll probably just nod at. But if you’d like me to stop working on this and focus on you, I’d be happy to slip back toward mediocrity.
Lucy: Never mind, I believe you. You’re doing a great job.
Esther: Then why do I still feel frustrated?
