Teen: How about paying us to talk to you?
Esther: You’re wasting your parents’ hard earned tax dollars!

    The sad thing is too many of these librarians actually exist and work the desk. There are all sorts of reasons that can’t be fired.
    Fortunately for me, I’m told I am very friendly. I try to counter the UNFRIENDLY curmudgeons.

    But, hey this is what makes the strip so much fun, the very fact that some of the personnel are so unfit for their jobs, but at least Esther’s not running the country.
