Patron: At last! A sensible librarian.

Jane: Here’s the school’s list of books and lexile levels.
Patron: Well this book isn’t on there.

Jane: Here are the five books at your son’s reading level.
Patron: But he’ll never read those.

Jane: Welcome to what my friend Laura calls the no-win scenario.
