Patron: I want a book that I’ve never heard of by an author I’ve never heard of.
Martin: That shouldn’t be too hard.

Patron: Oh it will be. I obsessively read book review websites, newsletters, and book jackets. I have a photographic memory.
Martin: I’ll do my best.

Patron:  The sheriff is the killer. I agree with reviewers who said that it wasn’t much of a surprise.

Patron: You don’t believe me.
Martin: I do, but I hadn’t read this yet. I’m mourning the loss of getting to discover the plot myself.
