I would just get as far away from such items as possible and report them at the circ desk…and let the PICOGT (person in charge of gross things), deal with it. When I was a librarian, handling GTs was above my pay scale. In my 30+ years on the job(s), I stopped having to work the refdesk after the first 5 yrs. and switched to strictly working office hours and being contacted by phone, e-mail, drop-by patrons, or even snail mail. Lucky me, I guess.
