I wonder if this person is a district or system supervisor. I’m guessing not: the way she appears strikes me that she is from another library system, maybe an academic, legal, or special library… This is the perfect strap to once again showcase the ongoing battle between print as championed by Martin and e- as advocated by Grant.

Woops…I made another typo! It was supposed to be, “This is the perfect _strip_ to…showcase….” not _strap!_ I gotta look over my posts more carefully before I hit the “send” button.

That is one of the components of “retail” that would drive me over an edge. Have to stand at the desk, but nothing to do until a customer arrives. Of course I would have a book handy to keep me occupied!

One of the duties of librarians is to know the collection and be able to recommend books to patrons.

Not every good book is discovered in a list from the New York Times.

Meanwhile, I’m standing behind a loan desk reading this comic. Graphic novels still count, right?

    1. Elliot says:

Print or e- ? Ask Martin if it’s the former, or Grant if it’s the latter, but don’t ask the angry librarian unless you’re “working,” i.e. reading it on a screen.
