Oldest book I’ve found in the regular stacks: A 1786 or so printing of the play The Mysterious Mother by Horace Walpole. It wasn’t even in special collections or anything! I’m a Walpole fan so I photocopied that sucker before I turned it in. Iication. shouldn’t have bothered: It’s a turkey that wasn’t really meant for performance.
