Woman: They’re still filthy.
Martin: But now they’re 99.9% germ free.
Woman: No, they’re not! Your hands are now covered with germ corpses. It’s worse!
Martin: Socially acceptable germ corpses.

Dead bacteria is easy for even a compromised immune system to deal with. Mind you, 99.9% dead means 0.1% still alive and kicking, and a healthy immune system can usually deal with that forthwith.
That 0.1% is easily taken care of by an immuno-deficient body as well. Immuno-compromised may still have issues though.
