Patron: I’m looking for some diet books.
Jody: Of course.
Patron: "Of course." ? That’s not very nice.
Jody: You don’t want my help?
Patron: You were supposed to say something like, “Why?” or “Really? But you don’t need them.”
Jody: Why?
Patron: Perfect. The diet book is for a friend.
Jody: No, I mean “Why would I pretend you don’t need the book you asked for?”
Jody: Of course.
