Grant: Let me see if I can figure out what’s going on.

Grant: Well, it’s not a paper jam.
Patron: Why do you sound so sad?

Grant: It’s the most common problem, and the easiest to fix.
Patron: What’s the next most common?

Grant: User incompetence. But for my own sake I’m going to assume that’s not the case.

    Also EBKAC (Error between…), PICNIC (Problem in chair, not in computer) and Layer 8 (deep cut networking joke; there are seven layers to networking, with 1 being the deepest and 7 being closest to the user, so Layer 8 is the user layer)

    Saying that, I mean, if I had a dollar for every time I screwed up and it turned out to be something silly and obvious… Be kind to your users, tech folks.
