Martin: And how do you feel?
Patron: Honestly? Meh.
Martin: Don’t you have the sense of satisfaction that comes with finishing a great book?
Patron: No.
Martin: Don’t you have the sense of accomplishment that comes with pulling yourself through a text that presented an intellectual challenge?
Patron: I feel nauseated.
Martin: That’s not the book, that’s the flu.
Martin: And how do you feel?
